W Bro Garrett wrote this letter of thanks to North Notts Rotary Lodge

North Notts Rotary Lodges Donation to TLC

On behalf of the TLC Management Team may we offer an enormous thank you for your most generous donation to our fund.

Although we have only just taken over the management challenge it has become clearly apparent the importance of that our lodges make to running the TLC charity as a caring, stable business.

Martin it is only reasonable that you should expect that an explanation of how your money will be applied. Please let me describe what your Lodge has done.

Your donation of £613.00 enables us to buy 307 bears. In real terms it allows Hospitals., Hospices, Bereavement Trusts etc who care for Children when experiencing Traumatic events. These take place in many forms of being terminally ill, loosing a parent, a simple vaccination when if teddy gets the needle first it becomes much easier for the child to receive the same.

Then the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) tell us for every bear donated ten people become involved. Parents, siblings, medical staff, social workers. The list goes on. So, in your case today over 3000 people will hear of us. Giving a window into who we are and what we do.

In local terms Kings Mill Hospital in 2024 distributed 1656 bears to Mansfield children in distress. Touching hearts of over 16,000 people who in all probably knew nothing about Freemasonry.

What a powerful tool Freemasonry has in its armament to be able to bring peace and security for a child and promote who and what we are to the public for £2.00 for each bear. A huge thank you.

Yours most sincerely and fraternally.

Roger Garrett

W Bro Roger Garrett. -Chairman for TLC Notts

W Bro Garrett and the TLC Secretary (Nottinghamshire) W Bro John Pawlik are working hard to further increase the profile (and by association, increase the number of vulnerable people helped) by TLC Notts and recent increases in the amount of organisations carrying TLC Bears to help people at the scene of distressing and difficult situations are that as well as existing outlets, bears are now going to be carried on Fire Engines and Ambulances as well as Hospitals and Police Stations as well as recognising that TLC bears can also bring great comfort to those suffering from Dementia and similar conditions

I invite other lodges to update us on their donations and if you are aware of other situations where these TLC Bears can help then do not hesitate to contact W Bro Garrett or W Bro Pawlik who will be pleased to consider your suggestions
