TLC were on hand, the last Sunday in November, at the Portland College Christmas market near Mansfield to raise awareness for a charity run by Freemasons in Nottinghamshire.

As you can see the Teddies kept us warm as a freezing cold day turned to snow as the day progressed which added to the magical event. TLC provides small teddy bears to A&E departments and hospitals to allow nurses and doctors to give them to children who are facing trauma or distress.

Simon Leeming, pictured centre with two other Nottinghamshire Freemasons, said “It was quite humbling to meet some of the parents and children who had directly benefited from one of these bears. One mother said it helped them so much as they left everything behind to get their child to hospital in an emergency – the bear gave her son so much comfort when he was seriously ill”.

The event raised £300 for TLC which will provide funds to buy more bears for our local hospitals – Kings Mill ordered five boxes this week! Every bear sale helps put more bears into a child’s arms when they need it most.  Get in touch if you would like to buy one of the large bears (pictured)...and follow us on FaceBook to keep up-to-date.
