July 5 2021 was a national day when the whole nation  gave thanks to the NHS  and its staff for their efforts over the past 73 years and in particular for their work during the Pandemic

TLC in general and Nottinghamshire in particular made presentations at various hospitals and John Bassford visited Kings Mill Hospital to present large teddy bears and specially commissioned teddy bear pins in nurses uniforms

On the same day, the Queen awarded the NHS the George Cross, so naturally, the large bear was christened George

in the picture attached beside the bears  are

Julie Hogg – Chief Nurse at Kings Mill

Jill Smallwood – Chair of the volunteers at King’s Mill Hospital. who responsible for the distribution of bears within Kings Mill

And John Bassford representing TLC Nottinghamshire

The Staff at the Hospital were full of thanks for the bears who make treatment of sick children significantly easier
