About the Lodge
The East Retford Lodge, is a friendly and inviting group of men who meet together on the third Wednesday of the month between September and November, then February through till May at Retford Masonic Hall on Carolgate in Retford. Our meetings begin at 6.30 pm.
We also have rehearsals which are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.30 pm at the same address.
Our regular meetings are followed by a sit-down meal where there is good camaraderie among the members, enjoyment of being together in a friendly, convivial environment. This meal, on average, finishes around 10pm.
We also have social events in the summer and at Christmas, as well as joining our Mother and Sister lodge for an annual Burns night celebration which is also a taster for any new prospective Freemasons.
The former annual black-tie is returning after an absence of a few years, and is open invite to all members and their guests. We also host an annual Carol service for members and family, which is well attended and a very enjoyable festive event.
As Freemasons, we are united by our shared values, which are described at https://www.ugle.org.uk/discover-freemasonry/what-is-freemasonry.
The members of our Lodge have several common interests, including Rugby and motorcycling. We like to hold social events in addition to our monthly meetings to raise money for local charities, and we are keen to increase this activity over the coming year. We also have an evening dinner after our meetings on the third Wednesday of the month for those attending the meeting; a raffle is held to help boost our charity funds.
We have a diverse membership covering a wide age group, from different professions, both working and retired, and with a range of personalities, skills and qualities. We are forward-thinking and, through Freemasonry, offer an amazing life-long journey of learning, self-discovery and personal development. As a progressive Lodge we are now looking to attract new members who share our interest in personal development, shared enjoyment and support for our local community.
The costs of membership compare very favourably with those of other social groups. As a Lodge we offer great value.
