Excalibur Lodge offer ongoing support to The Friary

The Worshipful Master of Excalibur Lodge 8903, Gordon Hill, and Charity Steward Gregor Brabender have presented the first donation of non-perishable items of food to the Friary Drop in Centre, Musters Road, Nottingham.

The Friary was chosen as the Master's Charity this year (2019) and he thought that in addition to financial support, it would be beneficial to collect items of foos from the brethren before every Lodge Meeting and donate to the Friary’s food bank on an ongoing basis.

The first collection of 67 items was gratefully received by the staff, after which Lodge representatives were taken on a guided tour of the facilities.

The Friary copes with over one hundred homeless or vulnerable people every day, and it soon became apparent during our visit that our efforts in collecting food items would assist the Friary in feeding all these people.
